Lauren McKay, MSN, APRN, FNP-C, Owner & Family Nurse Practitioner
Lauren is a Montana native and Carroll College graduate who earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2011. After a brief bike tour and WWOOFing adventure in New Zealand, she returned to work as an oncology nurse in Helena. She completed her Family Nurse Practitioner degree at Montana State University in 2015 and then went to work as an outpatient internal medicine provider serving patients throughout central Montana. Lauren was fortunate to complete part of her nurse practitioner training here at Three Rivers Medical Clinic, and being able to return in 2021 to care for this community has been one of the most rewarding chapters of her career.
In 2025, Lauren took over ownership of Three Rivers Medical Clinic and is honored to continue caring for the community she has grown to love. Her vision is to preserve the personalized, relationship-based care our community values while continuing to expand access to high-quality healthcare close to home. Working as a small-town provider allows her to treat her patients like family and be part of a community where neighbors truly look out for one another.
Outside of the clinic, Lauren feels most at home outside or in the saddle—whether that’s riding horses, helping friends work livestock, or spending time camping, skiing, mountain biking, hunting, fishing, or picking wildflowers with her girls. She and her husband, Shane, are grateful to be raising their daughters, Revy and Seeley in the close-knit community they are proud to call home.
Crystal Marx, MSN, APRN, FNP-C, Nurse Practitioner
Crystal has been a Registered Nurse since 2001 and became a Family Nurse Practitioner in 2019 after earning her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of North Dakota.
Her nursing background includes six years in a hospital medical-surgical unit, followed by years specializing in wound care, where she continues to maintain her wound care certification. Those experiences have shaped the knowledgeable, compassionate approach she brings to every patient she cares for.
Crystal and her husband, Mat, both grew up in Belgrade and now call Three Forks home with their two sons, Sawyer and Gabe. Whether she’s cheering from the sidelines at a sporting event, camping with her family, traveling, or rooting on the Bobcats, family is at the center of everything she does.
Crystal has an incredible ability to balance being an exceptional nurse practitioner and an amazing mom. She brings kindness, humility, and genuine compassion to our clinic every day, and we’re so grateful to have her caring for our patients and our community.

A two-inch Giant Water Beetle—also known as a “toe-biter”—that her son Brantley rescued right in our clinic parking lot!
